HMPPS Insights

During the 2020 HMPPS Insights, both Lauren and Michela presented their initiatives to HMPPS staff and practitioners. Michela’s talk focuses on imprisonment, soft skills and desistance potential whilst Lauren’s aim was to raise awareness to the importance of relationships in the rehabilitation process.
FAIR Project
FAIR (Fighting Against Inmate Radicalisation) was an EU funded project running between 2017 and 2019 across 9 European countries. The aims of the project were to collaborate on the prevention of violent radicalisation of people in prison in order to promote disengagement and promote resettlement into society. One of the outputs of this collaboration was a training programme for prison staff, designed and developed by us. More information on FAIR can be found here.

SkillHUBS

SkillHUBS, an Erasmus+ EU Funded project running from 2017 to 2020, aimed at developing a transnational counselling and training model for inmates. With cooperation from 10 partner organisations, recommendations for the introduction of the model into national prison education systems across Europe was drafted and piloted in three countries – Malta, Romania and Slovenia. We were a part of the training process of prison staff, report writing, and evaluations as well as the piloting.
